About Me

Hi, I’m Jongwon Kim. I received my Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Engineering from POSTECH in August 2026 and am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Future IT Innovation Laboratory at POSTECH.

My research centers on AI for manufacturing. In particular, I develop methods for anomaly detection and analysis of manufacturing sensor data with time-series foundation models, and my most recent work focuses on building foundation models specialized for manufacturing. I am also interested in probabilistic modeling, including Gaussian processes and other Bayesian models, and its application to Bayesian optimization. Much of this work has been carried out in collaboration with Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, POSCO, and KETI, at the intersection of machine learning and Quality, Statistics, and Reliability (QSR).
